Macvent

A double flap type natural ventilation outlet in mill finish aluminium

Introduction


The Macvent is designed to act as a large clear opening natural exhaust ventilator. It can also be used as a rooflight / access hatch.

Application

Offered in a single or double lidded version, the Macvent is suitable for most roof mounting situations.

The rooflight version with translucent lids is particularly suited to areas which would benefit from the provision of a source of natural daylight together with the large ventilation area.

Energy Conservation

Fitted with energy conserving draught strips to minimise heat loss when closed, also available with insulated ventilator body &/or lid(s).

Weathering

The unit has an integral base skirt to fix down and flash over all types of building structures including roof upstands.

Construction

Manufactured using aluminium BS EN 485 alloy, ventilator body, lid frames, central drainage channel (twin flap only), controls and actuators are secured to the main ventilator body.

Lids available in aluminium (with or without insulation) and with translucent polycarbonate infils.

Sizes

Custom built and made to measure, units range from 1200mm up to 4000mm.

Rooflight/Access Version

Units are offered with 16mm thick translucent Polycarbonate lids.

The Macvent is available with the option of translucent lids to combine the functions of ventilation with the provision of natural daylighting.

The lids are manufactured using a triple-wall design polycarbonate which offers high light transmission (82%) and weather resistance, high thermal insulation with UV protection and has impact strength for increased safety during any necessary roof maintenance work.

Finishes

In addition to mill finish, also available is polyester powder paint finish (including Syntha Pulvin) with a wide choice of colours and gloss levels.

Controls

Manual Nylon covered wire cable to:

  1. Clam Cleat/Clutch Control – variable setting.
  2. Winch – variable setting.
  3. Friction loaded – variable setting.

Pneumatic For day to day opening and closing, also enables optional connection to temperature sensors/building management systems.

Electric Actuation For day to day opening and closing, also enables optional connection to temperature sensors/building management systems.

Maintenance

Maintenance should be carried out in accordance with McKenzie-Martin’s recommendations.
